Npd Engineer

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and innovative NPD (New Product Development) Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing new products, ensuring they meet functional, aesthetic, and manufacturing requirements. This role requires proficiency in 3D modeling software and a collaborative approach to drive product innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Product Design:
   
• Design new products based on concepts or samples using 3D modeling software (SolidWorks), including solid modeling, surface modeling, and sheet metal design.
• Convert finalized 3D models into detailed 2D CAD drawings suitable for manufacturing.
2. Feasibility and Detailing:
   
• Ensure designs consider manufacturing feasibility, material optimization, cost competitiveness, and both functional and aesthetic requirements.
3. Prototype Development:
   
• Develop and review prototypes, performing tests to finalize product designs and ensure they meet specifications.
4. Market Research:
   
• Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, understand market requirements, and initiate innovative product designs.
5. Material and Technology Analysis:
   
• Analyze new materials and technologies to evaluate their functionality for new product developments.
6. Vendor Coordination:
   
• Coordinate with factories and vendors regarding sample development, clarify any doubts, and arrange samples for validation and approval.
7. Finalization and Documentation:
   
• Detail approved designs and create final 3D models, comprehensive engineering drawings, Bill of Quantities (BOQ), Bill of Materials (BOM), along with assembly guidelines and packing designs.
8. Collaboration with Teams:
   
• Provide 2D drawings and 3D models of new products to design, estimation, and marketing teams to support their initiatives.
9. Communication and Teamwork:
   
• Demonstrate strong communication skills and work as a responsible team member to achieve team goals and meet organizational objectives.
10. Continuous Improvement:
    
• Seek continuous improvements for existing products and contribute to cost-saving and value engineering initiatives through kaizen activities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and experience with 3D modeling and CAD software.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Experience in product development, manufacturing processes, and market research is a plus.
