Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Full-Stack, Backend-Focused) to join our fast-paced, customer-centric Digital Experience Team. This team is responsible for enhancing the experience for customers subscribed to our monthly subscription programs.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Design, develop, and optimize backend services using Java (preferred) or other object-oriented programming languages.
• Work with Spring Boot and similar frameworks to build scalable backend systems.
• Develop and maintain APIs, including GraphQL, REST, and tRPC, to power high-traffic applications.
• Implement event-driven architectures, message queues, and data pipelines for personalization and engagement.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to integrate micro-frontend architectures and Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) patterns.
• Participate in backend infrastructure improvements, including serverless computing, Kubernetes, and API Gateway configuration (Kong API Gateway preferred).
• Ensure performance optimization, security best practices, and high availability of backend services.
• Work with AWS cloud services to build and deploy resilient applications.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline automation using Jenkins.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications, ensuring seamless alignment between product and engineering teams.
• Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

What We're Looking For:

• Strong backend development experience with Java (preferred) or another object-oriented language.
• Some exposure to scripting languages like Python or Go is a plus.
• Proficiency in Spring Boot or similar frameworks for backend development.
• Experience in API design and development (GraphQL, REST, tRPC).
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures, message queues, and serverless computing.
• Understanding of microservices and distributed systems architecture.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and API Gateways (e.g., Kong).
• Hands-on experience with AWS services for backend scalability.
• Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline management using Jenkins.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-scale environment handling millions of users and transactions.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.

Bonus If You Have:

• Experience with subscription or e-commerce platforms.
• Background in fast-paced startup environments.
• Knowledge of CDP tools like Contentful, Ninetailed, and Segment.io.
• Hands-on experience with Mulesoft APIs.
• Familiarity with Netlify and Vercel (required only for frontend-heavy full-stack roles).
