Project Engineer (Civil & Interior)

Role & responsibilities

• Study the working drawings, BOQs, Contract Documents and Specifications - from Client.
• Calculate the quantities of work to be done & materials required for material indents
• Study the drawings, BOQs and Specifications and work order of sub-contractors appointed by EIPL Understand the scope of works undertaken by EIPL, the quality levels expected / specified, the process to be followed for execution, understand the dependencies of / with other contractors on site Assist the Project Manager to prepare time schedule for completion of site works
• Receive the GFCs (Good for Construction Drawings) and ensure proper filing and safekeeping thereof; ensure marking / removal of superseded drawings.
• Review the GFCs well in time, highlight anomalies if any and get them rectified; ensure construction as per the up-to-date drawings.
• Plan weekly and daily project activities in line with the overall project schedule and keep the PM & sub-contractors' personnel informed of the same. Plan out construction activities at a micro level in line with the overall Project schedule.
• Take charge of construction activities of the entire site or designated areas, as assigned by the Project Manager.
• Assist Project Manager in updating the schedule on weekly basis, based on actual progress at site
• Be prepared for weekly meetings with Client / PMC / other contractors
• Inform Project Manager if any Non-Tender Items works are introduced.
• Inform Billing Engineer to check sub-Contractor's bills; Check for their physical execution at site and cross check on the quantities claimed. Ensure accuracy of measurements;
• Assist PM / Billing Engineer in material reconciliation for materials supplied & used at site for each project
• Ensure maintenance all required documentation at site including Field Level Books, Measurement Books and Abstract Books.
• Assist Project Manager to maintain statement of pending payments - from Client as well as for Sub-Contractors (Payment trackers)
• Keep track of and report on wastages in use of materials

• Hold daily meetings with the concerned sub-contractors, review their daily plans and monitor manpower / equipment deployment.
• Supervise the daily works done for quality and timeliness; ensure adoption of proper and safe work procedures by the concerned contractors.
• Ensure that all work conforms to the required safety aspects and their proper follow-up by the concerned contractors.
• Follow up with Safety Officer regarding deviations & rectification measures taken & keep Project Manager informed
