Role & responsibilities

The main purpose of the job profile is Overall responsible for the Purchase & Store & all Material related activities.

• Uninterrupted material supply with cost control.

• Responsible for purchase activities on time as per Purchase Order and Monitoring & controlling material procurement procedure & timely release of purchase orders.
• Control of conversion cost related to consumable, spares & packing within SBU/Plant targets.

• Vendor management & satisfied end user.

• Developing vendors in time for material availability, quality of all types for the store & reduce the lead time & negotiating on vendors related to timely delivery, cost, quantity and quality.
• Annual rate contracts to be kept updated at all times.

• Scrap monitoring & disposal

• Monitoring of the scrap items from production as well as vendor end and make necessary arrangement for disposal of the same.

• Inventory control.

• Timely review of slow moving materials time to time with the help of store in charge & take necessary action i.e meeting with the various department to eliminate the dead inventory with a view to meet the SBU Corporate targets.

• Vendor control

• Visit vendor end surprisingly to check the stocks, segregation of raw materials, housekeeping and handling of the company owned items, following FIFO and rejected materials on fortnight basis.
• Visit vendor end surprisingly to check the quality issue, manpower, work flow etc to rate the vendor accordingly.
• If some discrepancy found then suggest vendor to make accurate correction.
• 100% ISO 9001 certification for key vendors at all times.
• Develop existing vendors dealing with lead & lead parts towards ISO 14001 certification.
• Issue Job work purchase orders to vendor; visualizing his past performance such as lead time delivery, coordination & quality.

Preferred candidate profile

• Degree in any Tech./Engg./Science/Comm. with 10-15 years experience in Materials function.
• PG Dipl. in Materials management preferred.

Exposure to SAP (MM Module) mandatory.
