Software Engineer - IT Asset Management (5-10 yrs)

Job Description :

Asset Management & Optimization :

- Manage the lifecycle of software assets, including procurement, deployment, monitoring, renewal, and decommissioning.

- Develop and maintain an up-to-date inventory of all software licenses and assets across the organization.

- Optimize software license usage to maximize value and minimize costs.

Compliance & Risk Management :

- Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements and regulatory requirements.

- Conduct regular audits to identify and address non-compliance or unauthorized usage.

- Serve as the primary contact for software audits conducted by vendors or third-party organizations.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management :

- Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and procurement teams to negotiate software contracts, licenses, and renewals.

- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to align software usage with business needs.

Policy Development & Governance :

- Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and standards for software asset management.

- Implement controls to reduce software compliance risks and enhance security.

Data Analysis & Reporting :

- Analyze software usage patterns and provide recommendations to optimize licensing.

- Generate reports on software compliance, cost savings, and asset utilization for senior management.

Skills :

- Bachelor's degree in IT, Business Administration, or a related field.

- 4 to 5 years of experience in software asset management, IT asset management, or related roles.

- Strong knowledge of software licensing models, contracts, and compliance frameworks (e.g., Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle).

- Proficiency in SAM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Flexera, Snow License Manager).

- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

- Familiarity with ITIL framework and ISO/IEC 19770 standards is a plus.
