Liferay Architect

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Liferay Architect to join our team. The Liferay Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable and efficient solutions using Liferay Digital Experience Platform (DXP) for enterprise-level applications. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Liferay's architecture, integration capabilities, and customization to meet business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Architecture Design:
   
• Lead the design and architecture of complex, high-performance Liferay solutions.
• Create detailed technical specifications and system designs for Liferay-based applications.
• Define best practices for Liferay implementation, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
2. Customization and Development:
   
• Develop custom portlets, themes, and workflows to meet business needs using Liferay DXP.
• Integrate Liferay with third-party applications, databases, and other enterprise systems.
• Provide guidance on implementing and optimizing Liferay features like user management, content management, and personalization.
3. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
   
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into Liferay-based solutions.
• Collaborate with project managers, developers, and other architects to ensure project success.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to development teams.
4. Performance Optimization:
   
• Ensure that Liferay applications perform optimally, even under heavy load.
• Optimize queries, caching mechanisms, and content delivery to improve application speed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues and bottlenecks.
5. Quality Assurance:
   
• Review code and architecture to ensure that best practices and quality standards are met.
• Perform code and design reviews, ensuring adherence to architectural guidelines.
• Ensure the robustness, security, and scalability of the Liferay implementation.
6. Continuous Improvement:
   
• Stay up to date with the latest Liferay features, updates, and technologies.
• Evaluate and introduce new tools, technologies, and methodologies to improve solution quality and delivery.
• Participate in internal knowledge sharing and continuous learning initiatives.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Technical Skills:
  
• Strong expertise in Liferay DXP (6.x, 7.x, and above).
• Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, and front-end technologies (e.g., HTML5, CSS3, JQuery, AngularJS).
• Familiarity with Liferay integration with other enterprise systems (e.g., CRM, ERP, CMS).
• Knowledge of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle) and SQL.
• Experience with Liferay development tools such as Liferay IDE, Service Builder, and MVC framework.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, web services, and microservices architecture.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Soft Skills:
  
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

• Experience:
  
• Minimum 7+ years of experience in software development with at least 3+ years working with Liferay.

Education:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Liferay Certified Developer/Administrator.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
