About the Role
The Manager of Portal and Web Development is responsible for architecting, development, implementation, and maintenance of web and portal solutions. This role involves leading a team of developers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality web applications, and aligning projects with business objectives.
Your Team
You will be reporting to the Director, Business Systems.
What You Will Do
Solution Delivery: Design, Architect and Implement technical end to end solutions.
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of web developers, providing guidance and support. Ensure capacity planning of development team to align right resources based on project, enhancements, and support deliverables.
Technical Oversight: Provide technical leadership to Portal and Web Development teams and ensuring the quality and performance of web applications and portals.
Best Practices: Implement and enforce web development best practices within the team.
Security: Understanding of security best practices and implement appropriate solutions during project lifecycle.
Performance Optimization: Conduct performance tuning and optimization of all Portals and Web related applications.
Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders, including back-end developers, designers, UX/UI specialists, and business analysts, to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.
Innovation: Stay updated with the latest web development trends and technologies and implement best practices.
Continuous Improvement: Continuously look for ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the web development process.
Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during development and maintenance.
Documentation and Training: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including solution architectures and blueprint, technical designs, deployment plans, and user manuals. Provide training and support to end users for increased user adoption.
What You Need
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 10-15 years of demonstrated experience in increasing responsibilities within a global, multicultural, multi-location organization.
Extensive experience as a Web Developer and in a Managerial position
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated ability to architect scalable, reliable, and high-performance front-end and back-end solutions that meet complex business requirements.
Proficiency in web development technologies (e.g., Liferay, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, .NET, MVC, .NET Core).
Strong understanding of web services (RESTful and SOAP).
Knowledge of database management and SQL
Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies and DevOps practices for continuous integration and delivery.
What is Nice to Have
Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of web development projects, ensuring they meet deadlines and budget constraints.
Strong experience using databases and Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint and Jira
Strong analytical, root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong time management skills, ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
