Senior Product Manager - Accounting Reporting

We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to lead the strategy, development, and delivery of accounting reporting solutions. Based in Bangalore, this role will focus on creating high-quality, automated reporting tools to support finance and accounting teams. Your expertise in financial reporting, compliance, and visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI and Fabric will be critical to your success as a senior individual contributor in this dynamic role.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Product Strategy and Vision:
• Define the vision, roadmap, and strategy for accounting reporting products.
• Ensure alignment with organizational goals, compliance standards, and stakeholder needs.
• Continuously evaluate market trends, regulatory changes, and internal feedback to drive innovation in reporting solutions.
2. Data-Driven Decision-Making:
• Partner with accounting, Fund accounting and Trust accounting teams to understand reporting requirements for financial statements, audits, and regulatory compliance.
• Analyze financial data and create automated solutions that provide accurate, actionable insights.
3. Microsoft Power BI Enablement:
• Design, develop, and deploy interactive Power BI dashboards for financial and accounting reports.
• Leverage Power Query and DAX for advanced calculations and data modeling to meet complex reporting requirements.
• Provide training and guidance to stakeholders to ensure effective use of reporting tools.
4. Stakeholder Engagement:
• Collaborate with accounting, Fund accounting, Trust accounting and Engineering teams to gather requirements and implement reporting solutions.
• Act as the primary interface for leadership, ensuring clear communication of reporting objectives, progress, and outcomes.
• Translate technical data insights into business-friendly narratives for non-technical stakeholders.
5. Compliance and Operational Excellence:
• Ensure all reporting solutions comply with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and scalability in reporting.
• Establish and monitor KPIs to measure the effectiveness and adoption of reporting tools.

Qualifications:

• Education:
• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Data Science, or a related field.
• Advanced certifications such as CPA, CMA, or equivalent are preferred.
• Experience:
• 68 years of experience in financial or accounting reporting, with at least 3 years in a product management role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and audit processes.
• Technical Skills:
• Expertise in Microsoft Power BI (including DAX, Power Query, and advanced visualization techniques).
• Familiarity with accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and data integration methods.
• Proficient in Excel; knowledge of SQL and APIs for data integration is a plus.
• Soft Skills:
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams and manage stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong communication and storytelling skills to convey data insights and drive adoption of solutions.
• A self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with the ability to prioritize and execute independently.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in financial services, corporate finance, or audit reporting.
• Knowledge of compliance reporting for regulatory bodies such as SEBI or PCAOB.
• Familiarity with Agile product management methodologies.
