Oracle DBA Engineer (WFH) - Espire Infolabs (CMMI Lev5)

L2 Database engineers manage a company's flow of information. They perform Database administration tasks including monitoring, maintenance of Databases to prevent system outages, ensure high quality Database availability, reporting and day to day management under minimal guidance from the Senior DBA. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.

Key accountability areas

1 Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and assistance.

2 Ability to implement disaster recovery and high availability, Establish a disaster recovery protocol.

3 Working hours are 40 hours a week, Rotating schedule typically include regular unsocial hours. Overnight and weekend work.

4 Familiarity with the main data manipulation languages and the principles of database design.

5 Communication, Teamwork, negotiation skills, problem-solving and good analytical skills.

6 Create accounts for all users and assign security levels.

7 Participate in companys cross-training program

8 Writing database documentation, including data standards and procedures

9 Working closely with IT project managers, database programmers and DCM

10 Develop monitoring, alerting and reporting capabilities.

11 Identify mission critical production jobs and troubleshoot application issues

12 Plan and perform Database updates and upgrades.

13 Provide 24/7 support as needed.

14 Follow established policies and procedures.

15 Advance scripting skill and ETL

16 Performs other duties as assigned.

17 Basic knowledge on Operating system.

Key working relationships

Working with your peers in the DBA group in 24x7 support model with three shifts. Maintain relation with key senior engineers and their intermediate colleagues with regularly reporting on progress and achievements. Develop and maintain relation with key stakeholders/application owners/DCM/SDM. Report to direct manager and provide regular feedback on personal development, achievements and improvements.

Education & Qualifications

Bachelors degree related to computer studies.

Certificate is an advantage.

Experience

Minimum of 5-6 years experience in maintaining Oracle Database systems.

With experience on open source technologies, PostgreSQL and MySQL

With experience on working with global enterprise environment

With experience in deploying at least two of the following infrastructure architectures: Oracle Enterprise 12c, PostgreSQL 9.x, MySQL 5.x, MSSQL 2008/2012/2014
