Sap Release Manager

Role Description :

• Designing, planning and managing all change-, release- and transport activities in projects (including maintenance), including the business signoffs to ensure the delivery of a fully working product and takes accountability for alignment with the test strategy, test plans, test estimates, test schedules and test resources plan.
• Supporting portfolio management on an appropriate planning and estimation regarding all aspects of release management for new ZAV portfolio items
• Guidance of all operational test resources on a correct implementation of the TEM test approach, in particular regarding the binding rules of the regulation authorities
• Assuring that the change- and release process is been followed and ensuring that the changes are installed/transported followed by the testing plan
• Driving test improvement initiatives in the domain
• Supporting central release management on the road to an enterprise release, in particular reporting and controlling the work product quality
• Supporting the transition of test-related knowledge to new workbench teams

The TEMB Test Governance Team is seeking support in the role Test Manager (expert or lead) for the asset Release, Integration, Transport from an E2E perspective.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

• Manages, coordinates and monitors transports of changes through the test stages into production environment
• Takes responsibility for design of release plans
• Takes responsibility for integrity of transporting and integration activities with testing and acceptance activities. Coordinates the execution of these activities and ensures the fulfillment of the requirements for environment, data, resources and tools
• Ensures effective implementation of release standards, processes & tools
• Aligns results with release management

Takes responsibility for controlling and reporting (e.g. status and defects)

Key Competencies & Skills required:

Technical:

• Experience with tech stacks: SAP ICM, SAP BP, SAP OM, mainframe, new tech stack
• Experience with Jira/Confluence, ALM (proficiently)
• Experience with Test Automation (strategy & concept)
• Experience with test data and test environment management (proficiently)
• Experience with test methodologies (ISTQB etc.)

Experience with change- and release methodologies (ITIL etc.)

Must Have:

• Manages test teams in a distributed team model (India, Europe)

Experience with change- and release management in SAP and mainframe incl. transport management

Knowledge & Experience:

• 7+ years of experience in testing, thereof >5 years as release manager
• Proven experience needed in the role of operational release manager
• Setting up test environments in projects (team, scheduling, communication, reporting etc.)
• Taking responsibility for design of release plans and creates traceability records, from requirements to releases
• Taking responsibility for integrity of environments and acceptance activities. Coordinating the execution of these activities and specifies requirements for environment, data, resources and tools
• Ensuring effective implementation of release standards, processes & tools
• Aligning results with release management
• Taking responsibility for controlling and reporting (e.g. status and defects)
• Proven experience on working with distributed teams (on-site, near-shore, off-shore)

ISTQB Test Manager Advanced Level (certified or equivalent)

Education/Qualification:

Degree in Computer Science, or a related subject
