Job Description
Quality Engineer Metallurgy will handle Metallurgical Inspection of Incoming Materials and Process Inspection and lead Product Process Audits Independently. Will be an interface between Cross-functional teams, Engineering (Design), Purchase and the Manufacturing in process of implementing required quality standards to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize non-value-added costs, whilst ensuring adheres procedures and processes are adhered without any deviations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure safety First always. - Lead the team of quality inspectors in a shift ensure that shift outputs are carried out as per the production requirements at various sections like Incoming inspections, stage inspection and final inspection for the all the product lines.
- Ensure the inspection carried out parts and products are reported in M3.
- Ensure the Processes Documentation as per ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, 45001:2018 Systems.
- Set up the effective Quality Assurance System. Ensure availability of all the Gauges measuring Instruments in Quality Dept. Machine Shop.
- Ensure Training coaching of Quality Operators to develop skills and capabilities required to achieve the Organizational Goals.
- Contribute to PK reductions through i.e. productivity improvements, process improvements. Ensure strict adherence to Business Code of Practice. Be part of RD team to contribute to new product development. Be part of RD team to contribute to material science. As and when required, visit the Steel supplier for Inspection. Focus on Continual improvement Projects (LEAN Management Systems).
- Ensure the inspection records are updated and filing done immediately at Incoming Final inspection
- Monitor the Inspection (Production) plan vs actual and update the records. Monitor the quality inspectors individual output and calculate the efficiency.
- Identify the quality issues related product and/or processes throughout the plant highlight communicate through mail and/or at relevant meetings.
- THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Qualification and Experience: B.E./B. Tech Metallurgical Engineering with 2 to 3 years of experience in Metallurgical Quality Lab and Heat Treatment function in Production facility (Automobile or Engineering Industry).
- Thorough knowledge of Quality Audit procedures relevant standards of ISO 9001: 2015. Experience in Heat Treatment, Metallurgy, Forging, Failure Analysis, and Steel Inspection. Knowledge of different grades of raw material. Hands on experience of Metallurgical Lab related activities.
- Proven analytical ability
- Good command of English (daily use of written and spoken form) Knowledge of Infor M3. Knowledge in CMM Operation, CNC turning Auto-cad will have added advantage.
- Skills Behavioral Competencies :
- Attention to detail Analytical thinking problem solving. Planning and Management and ability to prioritize. Human relations and influencing: Application of knowledge Health and Safety awareness for a Manufacturing environment: Assessment of Hazards and identification of Critical Elements. Participate in Planned workplace inspections, Risk Assessment, near miss reporting, accident investigations. Encouraging safe behavior in the team.
- Undertaking periodic training in safe work practices, system requirements to operating colleague and, where necessary, re-training.
