Job Description

We are seeking a passionate people leader with a technical background in embedded electronic control systems for mining and construction equipment. You will lead engineers in developing innovative control system solutions, including remote control and autonomous systems with capabilities in perception, path planning, and simulation.
As a Team Manager, you will collaborate with global stakeholders to understand the requirements of Epirocs customers and internal teams, ensuring the delivery of optimal solutions swiftly using agile methodologies.
You will be responsible for recruitment, mentoring, coaching, and performance reviews, building and managing cross-functional agile teams with expertise in niche technical areas. You will foster innovation and provide the necessary support to empower your teams.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Understand Technical Requirements: Collaborate with stakeholders to grasp technical needs, build teams, and deliver effective solutions.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Mentor and coach the team, conducting performance and development reviews to foster a high-performing, innovative environment.
  • Innovation and Creativity: Empower innovation within teams, encouraging creative thinking and the exploration of new ideas.
  • Project Management: Manage the budget, resources, and timelines of projects to ensure successful delivery.
  • Agile Methodologies: Develop and nurture agile practices within your teams, ensuring alignment with Epiroc's values.
  • Technical Competency Development: Guide the team in enhancing competencies in embedded control systems, including tele-op systems, sensor fusion, path planning, verification and validation including simulation.
  • Stakeholder and Team Engagement: Be approachable and available to stakeholders and the team, actively working to remove any hindrances.
  • Recruitment and Talent Development: Develop competencies and recruit new talent to meet current and future needs.
  • Industry Awareness: Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in Embedded Control Systems, Remote Control, and AI Integration with Autonomous Robotic technologies.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven Leadership Experience: Demonstrated ability to lead automation projects and teams within the automotive, mining, or construction industries.
  • Technical Proficiency:
  • Expertise in embedded electronic control systems, ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems), MATLAB Simulink, Linux, and programming in C, C++, and QNX.
  • Experience working with GitHub or similar version control systems.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Servant Leadership: Embrace a servant leadership approach with a proactive, can-do attitude and a curiosity to learn.
  • Communication and Project Management: Strong communication skills coupled with excellent project management capabilities along with problem-solving skills, attention to detail.

Nice to Have:

  • International Experience: Experience working with European or US clients and onsite experience, demonstrating an understanding of cross-cultural collaboration.
  • Agile Certifications: Certifications such as Scrum Master or Product Owner, indicating proficiency in agile methodologies and team management.
  • Knowledge of Emerging Technologies: Awareness of advancements in software-defined vehicles and model-based development, relevant for strategic decision-making.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Experience with machine learning, deep learning or AI techniques.
  • Familiarity with simulation tools like Gazebo, Unity, or Unreal, and Docker containers for software deployment.
