We are seeking an experienced Engineering Leader to join our dynamic team in Bangalore. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of backend Individual Contributors (ICs) working across our product. You will optimize our spend on SaaS platforms, drive excellence in backend development, foster a culture of innovation, and ensure that our engineering initiatives align with Enterprets strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities Team Leadership and Development
Build and Scale the Backend Engineering Team
Recruit, onboard, and mentor backend engineers.
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and professional growth.
People Management
Manage a team of backend ICs, providing guidance and support.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Mentorship and Talent Development
Identify and nurture talent within the team.

Managing and Optimizing Spend
SaaS Spend Management
Oversee and optimize the companys spend on SaaS platforms and services like OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS, Snowflake.
Evaluate and implement cost-effective solutions without compromising on quality.
Vendor Management
Manage relationships with SaaS vendors.
Negotiate contracts and ensure alignment with company needs and budgets.
Cost Optimization Strategies
Identify opportunities to reduce costs through consolidation or alternative solutions.
Implement monitoring and reporting mechanisms to track SaaS usage and expenses.
Scale Culture
Scale culture aligned with Enterpret s core values and operating principles.
Promote a positive and inclusive team culture that values collaboration and open communication.
Mediate conflicts effectively, ensuring healthy team dynamics and project progress.
Collaboration and Communication
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Product, Design, and Frontend teams to align backend engineering efforts with company objectives.

About You
Experience:
Minimum of 8 years in software engineering roles with at least 3 years in leadership positions.
Proven experience in building and scaling backend engineering teams , preferably in a startup environment.
Experience with seed/Series A/B startups or being a founder/co-founder is highly desirable.
Technical Expertise:
Strong background in backend development and system architecture.
Hands-on experience with backend technologies and frameworks.
Leadership Skills:
Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and inspire backend engineers.
Experience in managing backend ICs and driving technical excellence.
SaaS Spend Optimization Competence:
Experience in managing and optimizing spend on SaaS platforms.
