Engineer - Track & Ground

Design of rail alignment (horizontal, vertical, turnout placements & connections and cant), creation of templates and corridor modelling for rail facilities, freight, passenger railways, LRT, MRT and other guided transport systems for all design stages to satisfy business development and project delivery obligations for the Sweden Civil’s team.

Responsibilities

• Design responsibilities include, but not limited to, alignment design, template creation and corridor modelling.
• Role requires the designer to ensure quality and timely delivery to the client.
• Project management (basics such as documentation, and submission tracking expected) from start to delivery of project to client.
• Leading a design team, if necessary, in a project.
• Reporting project status to higher management at definite time intervals.

Key Competencies / Skills:

Mandatory

• Excellent command of written and verbal English.
• Very good working knowledge of Bentley products such as Microstation/ Power Rail Track/ Open Rail Designer (from alignment design through to preparation of drawings).
• Problem solving skills and originality in approach to solving a problem.
• Computer literacy.

  Desired

   

• At least 5 years’ experience of working with Rail Alignment & Track Design for LRT, Metro, Monorail, High Speed and/or Freight railways and other Guided Transport Systems.
• Swedish project experience and knowledge of Swedish design standards is advantageous. Training and guidance will be provided where necessary.
• Experience to work in/with other cultures.
• Good working knowledge of software such as AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
• Familiarity with OneNote, Bentley products such as Projectwise, Open Roads Designer, skills in MS Excel are advantageous.
• Experience in projects from feasibility to detailed design to implementation and client handover.
• High degree of self-motivation and ability to motivate others.
• Ability to work truthfully and honestly, even under minimum supervision.
• Familiarity of interfacing with other disciplines
