Energy Exemplar - System Administrator - IT Infrastructure (4-8 yrs)

About the Position :

- The IT Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the Club's computer systems, networks, applications, and Service Desk.

- Includes installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware and software, troubleshooting problems, and supporting users.

- In addition, the IT Administrator is the first line of support to solve issues and works with vendors to ensure the company's IT systems are up-to-date and secure.

- This position requires flexibility, patience, problem-solving, and business savvy.

- Technical skills and experience are necessary, but situational awareness and people skills are equally important.

- You will be helping staff and members of varying technical abilities.

Key Accountabilities

- Using Microsoft's modern cloud management platforms, manage, configure, and optimize the Microsoft suite of products and services, including O365, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Intune.

- Administer implementing and optimizing cloud-based services and virtualized infrastructure on Microsoft Azure and AWS services, including user, tenant, networking resources, and security administration.

- Administer and support Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), including users, groups, conditional access, and hybrid identity integration with on-premises Active Directory.

- Maintain and optimize on-premises AD infrastructure, including DNS, GPOs, and domain controllers.

- Implement SSO, enforce Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and security best practices across user, service principal, and device identities.

- Write and maintain advanced PowerShell scripts to automate user and resource provisioning, reporting, and service configurations across Exchange Online, Active Directory, and O365.

- Administer Email security and Spam filtering (e.g, Mimecast) and ensure compliance with data retention policies.

- Provides technical support and administration for complex IT infrastructure, including support for servers, storage, backup, and replication systems, and IAM and core IT infrastructure applications.

- Perform user administration and upgrades for SaaS applications.

- Implement and maintain security best practices, including conditional access policies, encryption, and data loss prevention (DLP).

- Provides production support, including problem resolution, technology moves, new user configuration and user accounts, operating system upgrades, and application support desktop/laptop rollouts.

- Support security and compliance audits by providing detailed reporting on identity access management, mail flow, and data access.

- Experience with Windows and Mac operating systems.

- Experience with network protocols and security.

- Experience with SaaS applications and tools.

- Provides support for hardening, patching, and vulnerability remediation.

- Research and remediate vulnerabilities at all endpoints.

- Creates and maintains documentation for maintaining Windows patching schedule and executing patches/version updates.

- Documents architecture diagrams, configuration procedures, and processes.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience :

- Solid experience managing Microsoft products like O365 services, Intune, SharePoint, Teams, AD, and Entra ID.

- Proficient in Cloud computing technologies and experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.

- Advanced in PowerShell scripting for automating O365, Windows, and AD management tasks.

- Expertise in managing Entra ID, including conditional access, MFA, and security best practices.

- Strong understanding of Active Directory, including hybrid environments and Microsoft Entra Connect.

- Experience with security tools such as Microsoft Defender and Data Loss Prevention (DLP), CrowdStrike, Qualys, and Web Filtering tools.

- Experience with various computer systems, networks, and applications, e.g, SSO (SAML 2.0 & OIDC), MFA, VPN, Cisco and Fortinet gear, Servers, Wi-Fi, AV, DHCP, LAN, VLANs.

- Knowledge of Windows fundamentals and scripting with PowerShell/other automation tools.

- Knowledge of Azure, AWS Infrastructure, and other SaaS applications and features is preferred.

- User administration of developer tools like Visual Studio, Dev Ops, GitHub, Co-Pilot, and ChatGPT is preferred.

- Documents and maintains all system processes, procedures, and operations manuals.

- Ensures that all data and programmes are backed up and routine restores are performed.

- Performs regular preventive maintenance on computers, servers, mobile and communication devices (Zoom and team rooms), and network devices, i.e, patch management and firmware updates.

- Work with management to address IT shortcomings and help find and roll out automated solutions.

- Assist in implementing security measures to protect the company's data and improve security posture.

- Knowledge of system security standards, benchmarks, and security bulletins.

- Knowledge of general IT, network, and data centre infrastructure.

- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify root causes and develop scalable solutions.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related engineering degree.

- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in system administration, IT service desk at a software company.

- Minimum 3+ years of experience in cloud technologies, including Azure and AWS.

Preferred certifications :

- CompTIA A+, Network +, Security +, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) MCSA, Microsoft 365 Security Administration, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure Administrator.
