Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Security Engineer with a strong security mindset to join our medium-sized team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of defis systems and applications, including user endpoints, internal, on-premises systems, cloud-hosted workloads and control planes and SaaS applications. This role requires a deep understanding of various security tools and technologies to protect our infrastructure and data.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage security solutions to protect defi’s products and other critical systems.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents and alerts from various security platforms.
• Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans using appropriate tools.
• Collaborate with IT and development teams to ensure secure development, deployment and configuration of applications and systems.
• Manage endpoint protection and encryption solutions.
• Administer email security and data loss prevention solutions.
• Ensure compliance with defi security standards, industry standards and regulations.
• Support security training and awareness programs.
• Additional duties, as assigned.
• Participate in an on-call rotation.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of combined security and technical experience.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of core security concepts exemplified by the CIA triad, along with controls that support each.
• Security mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating potential threats and improving processes.
• Experience with at least one cloud service provider, Azure or AWS.
• Coding or scripting experience in one or more languages.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tooling, such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Experience with security monitoring and logging.
• Knowledge of core technical concepts and protocols, including DNS, IP addressing and subnetting, RDP and SSH, HTTPS, and virtualization.
• Familiarity with symmetric and asymmetric (public key) encryption.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with incident response and forensics.
• Knowledge of cloud security features and considerations for AWS and/or Azure environments.
• Vendor-agnostic cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CCSP, CISSP, OSCP, GSEC, etc.).
• Azure and/or AWS certifications (AZ-900, AZ-500, SAA-C03, SCS-C02, etc.).
• Proficiency with PowerShell for automation scripting.
• Experience with automating credential management, such as key rotation, certificate renewals, etc.
• Experience with DLP solutions to prevent egress of sensitive data.
• Experience with email protection and secure messaging solutions.
• Experience with vulnerability management and file integrity monitoring solutions.
• Experience with application security solutions, including SAST and DAST tooling.
• Knowledge of common application security vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10) and associated mitigations.
• Familiarity with predominant cybersecurity frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST CSF, NIST SP 800-53, etc.).
