Estimation Engineer

Role & responsibilities

The Estimation Engineer on the Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management Team (EPCM) will provide engineering and cost estimation support during the sales and project execution phases. This role will focus on the scope of work and interface management and developing cost estimates for the project. The Estimation Engineer will collaborate with vendors, subcontractors, EPC firms to ensure the most robust and cost competitive solution is achieved.

Project Support & Cost Estimation

Determine the scope of work of the project by participating in meetings, reviewing proposals, drawings, specifications and requirements. Perform a gap analysis on the scope of work and ensure that non-indicated but required scope is captured; manage the risk of scope gaps.

Interface with vendors and contractors to develop the most optimized cost estimation for the project. Provide complete quantity take off, analysis and estimates (labor, material and time requirements) for the Project including preparing drawings, schedules, costing sheets, WBS and other deliverables as required. Provide procurement support to customers. Establish and manage a cost estimation database.

Project Execution
Identify design and constructability issues. Ensure adherence to project and regulatory requirements. Participate in construction planning and coordination and provide cost/schedule management. Providing ongoing support during Project Execution phase by ensuring subcontracting activities are carried out according to specifications and requirements, track estimated costs vs. actual costs, etc.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with other engineering disciplines in EPCM and Application Engineering teams to ensure the most optimal solution is presented. Support business development and field applications engineers in refining plant integration strategies. Work closely with relevant functions to optimize installation costs.

LOCATION, TRAVEL AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Bangalore, India
• Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.

FORMAL EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS OR EQUIVALENT

• Bachelors degree in engineering or other technical fields.

WORK EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years of experience as an estimator engineer.
• Expertise in the estimation techniques for oil, gas, chemical or industrial gas plants.
• Familiar with product or project development.
