Role Summary:
- The Data Analyst role is an excellent opportunity to use your skills and experience to contribute to a purposeful mission with global Impact.
- You will be part of the Portfolio and Data Analytics (PDA) Team that works on EQ's core analytics tools, MIS, and database management.
- The Data Analyst is expected to have experience working with R, Python, and database query languages like SQL and apply these skills in the development of EQ's analytical infrastructure.
- The Data Analyst will be provided the opportunity to understand EQ's business model, processes, procedures and methodologies during the induction period so that they can apply their skills in further developing EQs analytical data and analytical infrastructure.
The key functions of the role include :
- Gather data from various sources, including databases, APIs, and third-party tools.
- Clean, validate, and preprocess data to ensure accuracy, integrity, and consistency.
- Transform data into formats suitable for data analysis.
- Maintain and update funds' and initiatives' analytical tools and models.
- Support in developing data models and maintaining models in Python.
- Analyzing automation of the Fund Analytics and creation of Fund Dashboards.
- Manage and support in building and expanding EQ's MIS analytical layer.
- Supporting cross-functional teams and projects, primarily Risk, Portfolio, and Investments.
- Support EQ Portfolio Managers on portfolio analytics and translate complex technical concepts into plain language.
- The successful candidate will be expected to stay current on the latest data analysis tools, techniques, and industry trends while also actively participating in continuous learning and development activities.
Who you are:
- We are looking for a highly motivated and outspoken candidate with working experience in banking or finance with a focus on lending and/or impact investing and a compelling personal background.
Key attributes and skills you bring to this exciting role are:
- Professional communication and presentation skills, with excellent written and spoken English.
- Programming Skills: Knowledge of statistical programming languages like R, Python, and database query languages like SQL
- Experience with Data Visualization Tools like matplotlib, ggplot, d3.js., Tableau that help to encode data visually.
- Hands-on experience with data science tools
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (financial modeling skills with Excel will be an added advantage).
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar role.
- Demonstrate interest in impact investing, emerging markets development, SDG initiatives, green energy, or energy transition projects.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Proficiency in statistical methods and machine learning algorithms.
- Aptitude to work in a multinational and multicultural environment.
Whom will you work with:
- The Data Analyst will work closely with the Portfolio Managers, the Head of Analytics of EQ-advised funds, and the investment team in running the portfolio management models.
- The analyst will also liaise with EQ's Risk Management team to highlight key risks and support the Senior Management Team in gaining an overview of the fund analytics process.
