Principal Engineer - SaaS Services (8-12 yrs)

About Role

We are looking for engineers who are passionate about building value-added services at SaaS scale. You have a deep interest in exploiting characteristics of data and metadata and build architectures that can efficiently and effectively process such data at scale thereby solving for multiple business requirements around data security and data management. With your understanding and insights of semi-structured, unstructured and structured data you will drive solution architectures for all the data management use-cases and thereby help build a complete suite of services.

As a Principal Engineer you will be providing technical leadership to create high quality software by owning architecture, design and implementation of services within a product. You will be responsible for the technical guidance and mentoring of a team. This role will require excellent communication skills as you will collaborate with Product Management to refine requirements, product architects to propose architectural changes and other product owners to drive features to completion with good quality.

Key Skills

- 8 to 10 years of experience, preferably in a product company.

- Extensive hands-on experience in Go/Python/C/C++/Java on Unix/Linux or Windows Platform

- Excellent programming skills along with Data structures, Algorithms, Design Concepts

- Experience in working with SoA (Service oriented Architecture)

- Experience in Cloud Technologies (preferably AWS)

- Experience with third party API integrations at scale (preferred)

Desirable Skills:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Familiar with Agile methodologies like Scrum etc.

- Knowledge of CRM solutions like Salesforces, Dynamics

- Knowledge of the Backup or Storage domain will be an advantage

Role and Responsibilities :

- The Principal Engineer's role is to be the technical leader in building enterprise grade scalable, performant systems which deliver the required functionality to the customers and delight them.

- Should be able to design and implement sufficiently large and complex features and/or architectural improvements to the product.

- Suggest and propose solutions to complex design problems.

- Identify areas of engineering improvements to the product and work with product architects and the team to address them.

- Should be able to technically guide junior engineers with feature design and Implementations.

- Review design and implementation done by junior engineers.

- Should be able to independently handle complex escalations and guide others as required.

- Be able to write technical blogs and make technical presentations in internal and external forums

Qualification :

- BTech / B.E / M.E. / M.Tech (Computer Science) or equivalent
