Head - Data Engineering (10-25 yrs)

Job Description :

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic leader to head our Data Engineering Practice. In this strategic role, you will drive business growth, operational excellence, and successful delivery of complex data engineering and technology projects. As the leader of our Data Engineering Center of Excellence (COE), you will work closely with clients, manage a high-performing team, and lead efforts to scale our business significantly over the next few years.

Key Responsibilities :

- Business Growth : Lead a $3M business with a vision to scale it to $10M+ in 3-4 years through effective strategies, RFP responses, and innovative technical solutions.

- Margin & Improvement Initiatives : Develop cost management plans and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and profitability.

- Operational Excellence : Drive project delivery by implementing quality assurance processes, identifying risks, and ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and service level agreements.

- Strategic Leadership : Define and execute the data engineering strategy in alignment with market needs, client objectives, and organizational priorities.

- Solution Delivery : Lead the design and implementation of scalable and efficient data pipelines, architectures, and workflows while ensuring data quality, security, and compliance.

- Team Building & Development : Build and mentor a high-performing data engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.

- Thought Leadership : Contribute to thought leadership by writing blogs, whitepapers, and research reports, while identifying opportunities to develop technology accelerators in the data engineering space.

- Client Engagement : Partner with clients to understand their business challenges and deliver data-driven solutions that exceed expectations.

- Technology & Innovation : Stay ahead of emerging data engineering trends, driving their adoption and promoting best practices in data governance and analytics.

Ideal Candidate Profile :

Education & Experience : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field with 10+ years of experience in data engineering, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.

Technical Expertise :

- Proficiency in modern data engineering tools like Spark, Hadoop, Snowflake, AWS/GCP/Azure, and Kafka.

- Strong expertise in programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Scala) and SQL.

- Deep knowledge of data modeling, warehousing, and big data technologies.

Leadership Skills :

- Proven ability to manage and inspire teams, with strong project management skills and a track record of delivering complex projects.

Soft Skills :

- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Strong problem-solving mindset with a focus on delivering business outcomes.
