Role & responsibilities

Job Description

  • Implements HR strategies and policies in accordance with companys vision, mission, values, and legal procedures.
  • Support and implement the local Functional HR Strategy and other strategic HR initiatives with respective business leader and advises and supports the business management for assigned Business.
  • Drive local implementation of effective HR programs (e.g. recruiting, people development, compensation & benefits implementation, organizational development and change), which are derived from the people strategy at country level.
  • Responsible for Revision of HR Process / Policy for standardization & transparency within HR / Business
  • Responsible for Separations, Terminal Benefits, process in coordination with legal department.
  • Ensure timely execution and closure of disciplinary proceedings
  • Responsible for rolling out Employee Benefits i.e. Mediclaim & Gratuity benefit plan, negotiation, launch, education, process employee benefits, visibility and reach to all employees.
  • Responsible for HR Communication through various channels
  • Advise business management regarding general HR topics, processes and compliance issues, based on local regulations.
  • Plan and project Workforce Demand for the assigned business
  • Ensure quality and adherence to local standards for core HR processes; Set up and execute unit related HR projects.
  • Manages data and documentation handling at local level.
  • Supports employee relation activities by investigating and solving issues. Conduct employee connect programs at all levels (Blue and white collar employees)
  • Handling HR Audit, corrective action, preventive action & continual process improvement.
  • Ensure best HR Practices / HR systems & processes, Policy formation: Ensuring the best in class HR practices adopted at workplace for a disciplined & result oriented working environment.
  • Collecting applicable deductions of employees from the Accounts Dept.
  • Addressing and attending to the employee grievances towards effective resolution within a stipulated time as well as discuss with the Management for intervention if necessary
  • Oversee the attendance / salary process at site level and manage SAP admin activities to ensure zero escalations in salary processing on monthly basis.
  • Ensure that centrally driven projects such Performance appraisal are rolled out at site level with 100% compliance and completion within deadline.
  • Audits periodically all the records of HR department.
  • Evaluates technology solutions to improve human resources processes.
  • Benchmarks best practices internally and externally for HR process improvement.
  • Works in coordination with Head of the Departments and Planning Department for manpower planning.
  • Enables recruitment activities through HRSS as per the manpower requirements.
  • Audits the employment agreements, whether they are up to date and aligned with local procedures and global policies.
  • Supports the Talent Development team in identification and imparting training and development initiatives.
  • Supports Quality department in determining health & safety regulations/procedures and analyses the reports for improvement.
  • Evaluates employee engagement results, organizes workshop with Head of Departments to focus development areas and creates action plans.
  • Organizes social activities & events for employee engagement.
  • Administer the companys labour relations policy in accordance with legal framework.
  • Coordinates the administration and negotiation of trade union contracts. Represents the company management in negotiations with union officials on all matters. Monitors all provisions of the agreements between unions and management.
  • Liaisons with regional labour commissioners, PF and ESIC commissioners and establish rapport with Central and State Labour Ministries.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Should have worked in generalist HR role for min of 6 years
  • Fulltime MBA in HRM / HRD from Reputed University. Post Graduate Diploma Holders may also apply
  • Pleasant, confident, and collaborative approach. Ability to cope with stress and work in a fast-paced environment
  • An excellent command of written and spoken English and Tamil.
  • Willingness to take on multiple tasks
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Pro-active thinker with the ability to spot problems before they arise
  • The incumbent should have pleasing personality and excellent communication skills, fluency in English and self-driven approach.
  • Experience in handling large volume hiring majorly blue-collar employees.
  • Preferable to have experience in unionized environment
