Job Summary:
The Solar Purchase Manager is responsible for managing the procurement of all materials and services required for solar projects. This includes sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing solar panels, inverters, cables, and other components necessary for project execution. The role requires close collaboration with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement, maintaining quality standards and compliance with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

• Procurement Planning: Develop and implement procurement strategies to source solar materials and services at competitive prices while ensuring quality and reliability.
• Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to secure the best possible deals for the company.
• Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to project sites. Optimize inventory levels to minimize costs and avoid project delays.
• Cost Management: Analyze market trends and supplier pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities. Work with the finance team to develop and manage the procurement budget.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all purchased materials meet the required quality standards and certifications. Work closely with the quality assurance team to conduct inspections and audits of suppliers as needed.
• Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Stay updated on industry regulations and adjust procurement strategies accordingly.
• Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and timelines. Ensure procurement activities align with project schedules and deliverables.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure continuity of supply in the face of market fluctuations or disruptions.
• Reporting: Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, including cost analysis, supplier performance, and project status, for presentation to the Solar Project Head and other senior management.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CPM, CPSM) is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the renewable energy or solar industry. Experience managing procurement for large-scale projects is highly desirable.
• Skills:
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Excellent understanding of supply chain management and procurement processes.
• Knowledge of the solar industry, including key components and technologies.
• Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment:

• Travel: May require travel to supplier sites and project locations.
• Work Conditions: Primarily office-based with some field visits as required.
