Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Plumbing Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in designing plumbing systems for residential, commercial, and mixed-use real estate projects. The role involves working collaboratively with architects, engineers, and construction teams to develop efficient and sustainable plumbing solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and Drafting:
• Develop plumbing system layouts, schematics, and designs using CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
• Design water supply, drainage, stormwater, sewage, and fire protection systems according to project requirements and codes.
2. Code Compliance:
• Ensure designs comply with local and international plumbing codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NBC, IS codes).
• Stay updated on changes in plumbing and building codes.
3. Project Coordination:
• Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and MEP teams to integrate plumbing systems into building designs.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure smooth execution of plumbing installations.
4. Documentation and Reporting:
• Prepare detailed BOQs (Bill of Quantities), specifications, and technical reports for plumbing systems.
• Create as-built drawings and documentation post-construction.
5. Quality Assurance:
• Conduct quality checks during design and execution to ensure adherence to design intent and project specifications.
• Perform site visits to inspect ongoing plumbing installations and resolve any issues.
6. Sustainability:
• Incorporate sustainable plumbing practices such as water-saving fixtures, rainwater harvesting systems, and greywater recycling.
• Recommend energy-efficient and environmentally friendly plumbing solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in plumbing system design for real estate projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other plumbing design software.
• Strong plumbing and building codes, IS standards, and NBC knowledge.
• Experience with hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, and system layout.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with teams and stakeholders.Role & responsibilities
