Job Description

Overview

Accountabilities

  • Own overall MDG DevSecOps, SAP Workflows. Global Data Quality to support Business and Data Teams across the globe.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously refine a global SAP MDG strategy, with a focus on sustainable operations, data quality, and process optimization.
  • Align SAP MDG initiatives with corporate objectives, business goals, and IT strategies, ensuring global consistency while accommodating regional needs (especially in India).
  • Establish and manage a robust set of KPIs and performance metrics to measure data quality, governance effectiveness, and the overall health of the SAP MDG environment.
  • Sustain Operations & Continuous Improvement:
  • Oversee the sustain phase of SAP MDG implementation, ensuring stable operations, proactive issue resolution, and continuous optimization.
  • Lead the change management process, handling requests for enhancements, system updates, and integration with other enterprise systems.
  • Drive post-implementation support for SAP MDG solutions, ensuring system stability and seamless operation in India and global markets.
  • Coordinate and prioritize SAP MDG-related enhancements, maintenance, and issue resolution based on business needs, operational goals, and SLAs.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders and IT teams to define and monitor data quality metrics, ensuring that master data is accurate, complete, and aligned with business processes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
  • Partner with senior leaders in IT, business units, and operations to ensure SAP MDG processes are aligned with business objectives and enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the global data quality team to drive the implementation of data governance frameworks across multiple regions and business units.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert on data governance, SAP MDG, and data quality to senior executives and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Foster strong relationships with other departments (e.g., procurement, finance, supply chain) to ensure seamless data flow and process integration across the enterprise.
  • Assess impact, deliver changes, continuous improvements across projects that leverage MDG and SAP Workflows to ensure stability
  • Work with Value Stream Leads, System and Landscape Management, DMO and other PGT project teams to close gaps/improve ways of working across all DevSecOps deliverables
  • Manages resources in a matrix environment for SAP MDG and SAP Workflow
  • Provide input to drive DevSecOps approach, including automation where possible
  • Work/collaborate with external vendors, including onshore and offshore resources
  • Work with other team members to share experiences and learnings
  • Strong knowledge and experience with ServiceNow ITSM process and tools, HPLM, SOLMAN, Azure DevOps, Change Management, Incident Management and Problem Management for handling Operations effectively

Responsibilities

Mandatory technical Skills

  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with experience leading global, cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Advanced knowledge of data governance principles, data management frameworks, and data quality tools.
  • Knowledge of MDG Configurations and Customizations in areas like Data Modelling, UI Modelling, Process Modelling, Data Replication Framework, Key Mapping, rules, and derivations
  • SAP Workflow Administration and debugging in large production environments
  • SAP ABAP Expertise Function Modules, Business Objects, Classes, IDOCs, BADIs
  • SAP Workflow Graphical Workflow Builder and constructors
  • SAP Event Management including Status Management, Change Docs, Business Transaction Events
  • BRF+ Application Development, Integration
  • Experience using data quality tools and analytics to track data health and recommend improvements.

Qualifications

Full-time Degree and job-related certification are added advantages, and a full-time, regular post-graduate degree would add extra value as well.

Mandatory non-technical Skills

  • Experience working in large scale Enterprise Programs and complex cross matrix environment.
  • Prior experience working with global SAP solutions across Sectors, managing a global team to ensure minimizing any local change impacts.
  • Experience as a Lead, managing SAP MDG and SAP Workflow within a Global CPG company.
  • Functional knowledge and understanding of master data elements and processes per the necessary in-scope data domain (i.e., Material, Supplier, Customer, and Finance)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, able to persuade and influence others at all organization levels and the ability to foster lasting partnerships.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into SAP MDG and SAP Workflow dependencies and/or gaps.
  • Strong Project Management experience
  • Develop and enhance SAP PGT Workflow solutions maximizing shared code and common design patterns across platforms.
  • Provide Solution Governance to projects Provide input and recommendations to solution design.
  • Perform design and code reviews.
  • Organize and lead Proof of Concepts to demonstrate new and upcoming technologies
  • Identify and develop global, reusable components and services.
