Project Accountant

Overview of the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cash and bank reconciliation, financial reporting, and coordination with project management. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to manage financial operations across multiple locations.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Perform cash reconciliation for projects with cash collections exceeding 100 locations.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of cash collection records.
• Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in bank statements.
• Maintain and update daily MIS reports for cash and bank collections.
• Analyze financial data to provide insights and support decision-making.
• Process employee reimbursement requests on time.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Manage advances given to employees and ensure proper settlement of accounts.
• Maintain accurate records of advances and settlements.
• Collaborate with project managers at various sites to ensure financial processes are followed.
• Provide financial support and guidance to project teams.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding financial matters.
• Prepare and present financial reports as needed.

Desired Skills/Characteristics

• Bachelors degree in Commerce (B.Com), Master’s degree in Commerce (M.Com), or MBA in Finance.
• 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
• Strong experience in cash and bank reconciliation.
• Proficiency in Management Information Systems (MIS) and financial reporting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in a citizen service company is an added advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in accounting software and MS Excel.
