Commercial Underwriter | Digit General Insurance | Pune

Role & responsibilities

• Commercial lines underwriting including Property, Engineering, All Misc, Package and workmen compensation products. (Experience in Marine will be an added advantage)
• Handling quotes up to the authority for the specific underwriter and following the referral process for limits beyond the vested authority.
• Enabling the sales team w.r.t what the specific market opportunities are and how with our UW guidelines we can approach various proposals/ Risks.
• Risk inspection/Engineering where required.
• Organise/ conduct training programms for the sales team, partner teams and partners.
• Keeping close track of claims and taking corrective measures to keep the LR/ COR in check.
• Going through data to evaluate gaps and emerging trends to align UW guidelines with the fast-moving market.
• Identifying areas/ risks where Digit should focus on to improve the commercial underwriting premium base.
• Team player, smart, enthusiastic, with relevant industry underwriting experience.
