Mainframe Developer/Himani/Madhu Pindi/5 To 10 Years

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled COBOL Developer/Production Support Specialist with extensive experience in mainframe technologies, including COBOL, JCL, VSAM, SQL, and CICS. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC), problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with business and IT teams. Experience in IDMS and Assembler is preferred, and a background in insurance applications is highly desirable.

Development and Maintenance:

• Design, develop, and maintain application code using COBOL, JCL, VSAM, SQL, and CICS.
• Analyze and translate business requirements into technical specifications and design solutions.
• Follow agile or waterfall methodologies and adhere to SDLC practices and quality guidelines.
• Develop and review test cases/scripts for SIT (System Integration Testing) and UAT (User Acceptance Testing).
• Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and standards.

Production Support:

• Provide business and production support for applications in the assigned domain.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex application and system issues.
• Monitor application performance and ensure timely resolution of incidents to minimize downtime.

Subject-Matter Expertise (SME):

• Act as a subject-matter expert (SME) for assigned application areas, offering guidance and insights.
• Provide technical support and mentorship to junior developers.
• Communicate effectively with business and IT teams across the organization to align solutions with business needs.

Other Responsibilities:

• Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
• Support documentation and knowledge-sharing efforts.

• 5-10 years of hands-on experience in development and production support using:
• COBOL
• JCL
• VSAM
• SQL
• CICS
• Proficiency in SDLC processes and quality assurance practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in developing and maintaining applications using both agile and waterfall methodologies.

• Knowledge of IDMS and Assembler.
• Background in insurance applications and related processes.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams.
