Mechanical Maintenance Manager – Wire and Cable Extrusion Industry

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance operations, equipment reliability, and preventive maintenance programs in the wire and cable extrusion manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will ensure optimal performance of machinery, reduce downtime, and improve efficiency through proactive maintenance strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for mechanical equipment.
• Oversee the installation, repair, and maintenance of extrusion machines, tooling, and support systems.
• Monitor equipment performance, downtime, and breakdown trends, implementing corrective actions.
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards in all maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with production and engineering teams to minimize disruptions and improve machine efficiency.
• Manage spare parts inventory, ensuring availability while optimizing costs.
• Develop and train maintenance teams on troubleshooting techniques and equipment handling.
• Work with external vendors for equipment procurement, repairs, and upgrades.
• Conduct root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machine reliability.
• Maintain documentation of maintenance activities, work orders, and compliance reports.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in wire and cable extrusion manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of extrusion machines, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical systems.
• Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
• Proficiency in troubleshooting, failure analysis, and maintenance best practices.
• Strong knowledge of MTTR, MTBF and TPM
• Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement techniques.
• Understanding of safety regulations, compliance requirements, and industry standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications such as Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP).
• Experience in automation, robotics, or Industry 4.0 maintenance strategies.
• Familiarity with PLC-controlled systems and advanced diagnostic tools.
