Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Hot Rolling Mill Manager to oversee operations in our facility in Nigeria. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of hot rolling mill office work, mechanical processes, and maintenance. This role requires a hands-on leader capable of analyzing and addressing defects while suggesting effective corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Oversight:
Manage and coordinate daily operations of the hot rolling mill, ensuring efficiency and productivity.

Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Defect Analysis:
Analyze defects and operational problems in the rolling mill processes.

Recommend and implement corrective actions to enhance performance and reduce downtime.

Standards Knowledge:
Maintain thorough knowledge of various mechanical and hydraulic standards applicable to hot rolling mills.

Ensure that all operations align with industry standards.

Resource Management:

Effectively handle manpower and resources to optimize productivity.

Train and develop team members to enhance skill sets and operational efficiency.

Machinery Operation:
Oversee the operation and maintenance of machinery, including cold shears, cold saws, cooling beds, roll tables, and conveyors.

Ensure all equipment is functioning optimally and maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Maintenance Expertise:
Conduct regular assessments of pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.

Lead maintenance teams in troubleshooting and resolving issues to minimize equipment downtime.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in hot rolling mill operations and 5 years in structural mills within the steel industry.
• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering (BE/B.Tech) or a related field.
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams.
• Excellent knowledge of machinery and maintenance practices in a rolling mill environment.
