Position: General Manager Maintenance

Reports To: Operations Head

Industry: Manufacturing, Automotive

Experience: 20+ years in maintenance management within Plastic Injection Molding operations in Automotive Industry.

Exposure to Maintenance of our all makes of Injection Molding Machines. All related utilities and auxiliary like robotics, QMC related to Injection Molding. Tool room equipment's like VMC, EDM, Wire-cut, Die Spotting, CMM, Conventional Machines. Knowledge of Fanuc & Mitsubishi make controllers.

Experience in managing multi-site maintenance operations.

Exposure to ERP systems for maintenance planning and tracking.

Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field

Job Summary:

The General Manager – Maintenance is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations of the organization, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with industry regulations. This role involves planning, implementing, and managing maintenance programs to enhance equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and improve operational efficiency.

Key Requirements:

Technical Skills:

a) Expertise in preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance strategies.

b) Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.

c) Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

d) Understanding of energy efficiency, sustainability, and automation trends.

e) Leadership & Management Skills:

f) Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

g) Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

h) Experience in leading large teams in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintenance Strategy & Operations:

a) Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

b) Ensure optimal performance of plant machinery, equipment, and infrastructure.

c) Establish KPIs to monitor maintenance performance and reduce downtime.

d) Implement best practices for asset management and reliability improvement.

2. Team Leadership & Management:

a) Lead and mentor a team of maintenance managers, engineers, and technicians.

b) Develop training programs to upskill the maintenance team.

c) Foster a culture of continuous improvement and safety compliance.

3. Budgeting & Cost Control:

a) Prepare and manage maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations.

b) Optimize spare parts inventory and procurement to reduce expenses.

c) Evaluate and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.

4. Compliance & Safety:

a) Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.

b) Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for maintenance activities.

c) Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to safety norms.

5. Technical & Process Improvement:

a) Analyze equipment performance data and implement corrective actions.

b) Drive innovation through automation, digitalization, and Industry 4.0 technologies.

c) Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve production efficiency.

6. Vendor & Stakeholder Management:

a) Liaise with suppliers and service providers for maintenance contracts.

b) Ensure effective collaboration with production, quality, and procurement teams.

c) Negotiate contracts for outsourced maintenance services.

Other Requirements:

a) Hands-on experience in implementing Lean, Six Sigma, or TPM methodologies.

b) Ability to handle high-pressure situations and drive performance improvement.

c) Strong analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to problem-solving.
