Job Description
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation of the project as agreed between the partners of the project. She/he will be responsible for mobilising the target communities, training, humanitarian relief, advocate for access to services for the beneficiaries, promote livelihoods, data collection and analysis and reporting. She/he will be a part of a team with responsibility to help staff with planning, implementing and monitoring project activities as well as participate and lead some of the activities.
Following are the specific roles and key responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and monitor project activities as in the project plans and ensure quality of outputs and proper methods of implementation in the spirit of transparency and participation and focus on achieving results.
- Work closely with the target communities, their representatives and service providers to resolve the issues faced by the community and implement project activities.
- Use the medium and holding meetings and other means of communication with the project implementation team to share information and verify data on activities done
- Coordinate with the Project Director and Accounts coordinator to implement project activities in a timely manner, gather data, undertake analysis and prepare reports for submission to the Donor.
- Undertake advocacy initiatives with service providers and local government representatives to strengthen access to services.
- Identify and report challenges and gaps in the project implementation and suggest modifications to project plans.
- Support data collection for project evaluation processes and implement any changes to the project plans in accordance with evaluation and accountability.
- Coordinate MEAL Activities planned as part of MEAL Plan with the MEAL Officer and with the Field staff to ensure timely data collection and analysis.
- Identify capacity building needs of the project staff and support the Project Director in planning and implementing staff training activities.
- Document project activities including planning meetings, community meetings etc and identify good practices for replicating in all project locations.
- Coordinate with Accounts Officer for financial planning, support in preparation of cash forecast in line with the project implementation plan, drafted by the program team / project coordinator., utilisation of project funds in a timely and efficient manner and in accordance with the policies of the organisation.
- Support the Director in conducting periodic appraisal of staff performance and adherence to policies of the organisation.
Experience required:
Candidates applying for this post must have worked with refugees/ migrants/ urban poor in similar capacities for a minimum of five years.
Key skills required
- Project coordination skills
- Excellent English writing skills
- Familiarity with email and other forms of communication and holding online meetings
- Good Hindi and English-speaking and listening skills
- Good Windows and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and internet skills
- Skills to respond to situations and reporting requirements in a timely manner
- Skills to nurture the capacities of junior staff
- Ability to work as a part of a team as well as on one s own.
Education
Candidates applying for this post must have a master s degree in humanities, social work or law.
