Senior Engineer - GCP and Java, AVP

Role Description

• The Senior Engineer designs and implements technical solutions and configures applications in different environments in response to business problems.
• With the partial/ full ownership of Production platforms, Senior Engineer is required to ensure environment stability, expeditious and timely resolution of Production issues, ensuring minimal downtimes and continuity of services.
• Further the Senior Engineer investigates, proposes and implements various solutions, standardizing where possible, to ensures stability and reliability of the application platforms. The person performing the role may lead delivery of other members of the team and controls their work where applicable

Your key responsibilities

• Design and develop new functionality
• Working with the team on functional and non-functional requirements, technical analysis and design
• Coding and testing, reviewing other team members changes. Unit test automation of new and existing functionality for maximum code coverage.
• Document business and functional requirements, design decisions and API
• Co-working with QA team on test automation of new and existing functionality
• Contribute to the definition of the future state of the system architecture.
• Contribute to third party product customization.
• Able to manage a small team to mentor them for development and delivery

Your skills and experience

• Extensive demonstrated hands-on experience using Java, experience designing, developing, and maintaining complex applications.
• 8 to 13 years of proven experience with Java and focus on multi-threading, collections, concurrency & optimization.
• Proficiency in developing object-oriented software applications, with deep experience in Java, J2EE, Spring framework with MongoDB or any no-sql database.
• Understanding of design Patter and its usage.
• Hands-on knowledge of Spring Core, MVC, JPA, Security and transaction
• Extensive Web Service (REST), JUnit experience
• Exposure to Cloud platforms like GCP is good to have.
• Exposure to IaC using Terraform, Helm charts for Continuous Deployment, GitHub w/f for SRE operations is good to have.
• Exposure to frameworks like Map Struct, Free Marker is good to have.
• Practical experience with Build Tools (preferably Gradle), Source Code Control (preferably GitHub), Continuous Integration (GitHub W/f) and Cloud/ Docker based application deployment.
• Proficient in Agile Development and understanding/knowledge of JIRA
• Strong desire to build, sense of ownership, urgency and drive.
• Excellent, verbal and written communication skills.
• Sound knowledge of JSON.
• Experience working in an agile team, practicing Scrum, Kanban or XP
• Ability to produce well-tested, documented, high-performance code to tight schedule.
