Role Description

We are looking for an experienced Engineer for Sanctions & Embargo screening squad. This position is with Corporate Bank - Transaction Surveillance Technology area. Transaction Surveillance Technology is an integral part of Cash Management and has been established as a first line of defense function to build appropriate controls to ensure regulatory compliance. The Sanctions and Embargo screening is a service within Transaction Surveillance, which provides near real-time, automated screening of transactions to ensure Anti Financial Crime compliance of the Deutsche Bank group and its various businesses.

To strengthen our development team, we are looking for Senior Java engineer that can lead the engineering teams, provide design governance & technical leadership across the team.

You would be working on an inhouse built system critical for payment flows that protects the Bank and its customers from financial crime. The system has High Availability requirements as well as High Throughput and Low latency requirements, all the while ensuring low operational costs and adherence to the Banks software development standards.Good understanding of system design is highly beneficial to ensure proper low-level decisions.

Your key responsibilities

Understanding of initial requirement documents, Functional Requirement Document (FRD) and design & develop code for the same.

Ensure code quality, enforce standards & best practices

Contribute to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the platform

Lead, manage and mentor junior team members

Cross team/squads collaboration

Ensuring timely completion & delivery of project and extending pre and postproduction release support activities.

Contribute to accelerate adaption of CI/CD, automation, AI in the platform

Active contribution to toil reduction from production and improve automation.

Implementation and compliance with bank policies (naming conventions, encryption, security settings, capacity, availability, and other non-functional requirements).

Code reviews based on the four-eye principle as well as problem and root cause analysis.

Your skills and experience

Bachelor of Science/Engineering degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Computer-Science or Software Engineering (or equivalent

Total 12+ years of experience in IT industry with exposure to software development

Strong interpersonal & communication skills

Team leadership

Strong innovative mindset

Relevant industry certifications if any

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (analyses the technical defect, identify the root-cause, and provide workaround/permanent solution)

Must have skills.

Query/Scripting: SQL, shell script
