Job Title: Design Engineer - Landing Gear/Gearbox Design

Experience: 5 + years

Job Summary: The Design Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of landing gear systems or gearboxes for aerospace and automotive applications. This role requires proficiency in CATIA V5/V6 and a strong understanding of mechanical design principles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop landing gear systems or gearboxes, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Utilize CATIA V5/V6 for 3D modeling, drafting, and assembly design. Proficient with GD&T.
• Perform engineering analysis, including stress analysis, fatigue analysis, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and testing, to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, drawings, and test plans.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical support throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in design tools, materials, and industry standards (e.g., FAA, EASA for aerospace; ISO, SAE for automotive).
• Support testing and validation activities, including prototype testing and failure analysis.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in landing gear or gearbox design.
• Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
• Well versant with Product design life cycle.
• Experience with engineering analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS, NASTRAN) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the aerospace or automotive industry.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Familiarity with PLM systems (e.g., ENOVIA).
