Job Title: Trade Marketing Manager FMCG
Department: Trade Marketing
Location: Gurgaon
Reports to: Head of Trade Marketing
Job Summary:
The Trade Marketing Manager will be responsible for driving the strategic development and execution of trade marketing initiatives for FMCG products. This role involves collaborating with sales teams, key retailers, and distributors to optimize brand visibility, increase sales, and strengthen brand positioning within the retail channel.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Trade Marketing Strategy:
- Develop and implement trade marketing strategies aligned with overall brand and sales objectives.
- Analyze market trends and consumer behavior to guide trade initiatives.
- Work closely with the sales team to design and execute in-store promotional plans.
- Develop clear and actionable sales tools (POSM, digital tools) to support trade initiatives.
2. Campaign Management:
- Design and manage promotional campaigns, ensuring alignment with sales goals and brand guidelines.
- Coordinate with the sales team to ensure efficient execution of trade activities and promotions.
- Monitor and report on campaign effectiveness, making data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
3. Retailer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key retailers and distributors.
- Work closely with the retail teams to ensure optimal product placement and visibility.
- Negotiate with retail partners on promotional opportunities and in-store activities.
4. Market Research and Analysis:
- Conduct regular competitor and market analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
- Monitor retail performance and adapt trade marketing strategies to achieve growth targets.
- Track ROI of trade marketing programs and adjust based on performance insights.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with brand marketing to ensure consistency in messaging and promotional materials.
- Partner with sales and logistics teams to ensure the availability of stock during promotional activities.
- Work closely with supply chain teams to manage inventory levels for promotional activities.
6. Budget Management:
- Manage trade marketing budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Track spending and ensure activities are executed within the budget and meet ROI expectations.
- Make QOPs for each channel and ensure the same is executed as is
- Create schemes and monitor their efficiencies
7. Reporting & Performance Tracking:
- Prepare regular reports for management, detailing the progress and success of trade marketing initiatives.
- Analyze sales data, consumer feedback, and market performance to improve future strategies.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or related field. MBA is a plus.
Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in trade marketing, brand management, or sales within the FMCG sector.
- Experience managing retail partnerships and in-store promotions.
- Strong background in project management and the ability to execute multiple campaigns simultaneously.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and trade marketing software/tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Strong negotiation and persuasion skills.
Language: Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to travel frequently for store visits, events, and meetings.
- Passion for FMCG products and consumer behavior.
