Job Summary:

The QA/QC Engineer - Electrical is responsible for ensuring quality control and quality assurance in all electrical works related to the construction of an industrial manufacturing building. The role involves conducting inspections, preparing quality documents, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure that all electrical installations comply with project specifications, local regulations, and international standards (e.g., IEC, NEC, IEEE).
• Review design drawings, specifications, and method statements to verify constructability and compliance with quality standards.
• Develop and implement project-specific Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and Quality Control Procedures (QCPs) for electrical works.
• Conduct Material Inspection (MIR) and Incoming Material Verification to ensure conformity with approved materials and technical requirements.
• Perform daily inspections of electrical installation work (cable laying, conduit installation, panel board installation, grounding, lighting, etc.).
• Conduct pre-commissioning and functional testing of electrical systems, such as transformers, switchgear, power panels, and motor control centers (MCCs).
• Verify cable testing (megger/insulation resistance, continuity test, high voltage test) and document results.
• Ensure proper installation of earthing/grounding and lightning protection systems.
• Monitor and verify electrical safety measures at the site, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Prepare Inspection & Test Reports (ITRs), Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and Corrective Action Reports (CARs) when required.
• Maintain a log of RFI (Request for Inspection) and coordinate with the consultant/client for inspections.
• Prepare As-Built Documentation and contribute to project handover documents.
• Ensure proper calibration records of testing equipment and instruments used on-site.
• Work closely with project engineers, construction teams, and subcontractors to ensure quality objectives are met.
• Coordinate with third-party testing agencies for specialized inspections and testing (e.g., power quality analysis, thermography, relay testing).
• Attend QA/QC meetings with the client, consultant, and contractors for quality-related discussions.
• Provide support to the safety team in ensuring that electrical works meet HSE standards.
• Identify quality risks and recommend solutions to minimize defects and rework.
• Conduct toolbox talks and training sessions for site teams on quality standards and best practices in electrical installation.
• Ensure all documentation is ISO 9001:2015 compliant, if applicable.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 4-8 years of experience in QA/QC for electrical systems in industrial construction projects (manufacturing plants, factories, warehouses, etc.).
• Experience working on projects involving HV/LV electrical distribution, switchgear, generators, UPS systems, and automation systems is preferred.

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, IEC, IEEE, NEMA).
• Experience in QA/QC documentation, including ITPs, MIRs, NCRs, and test reports.
• Familiarity with testing procedures for transformers, cables, grounding, and power distribution panels.
• Proficiency in electrical drawings, schematics, and single-line diagrams (SLDs).
• Knowledge of construction quality management systems such as ISO 9001:2015.

Work Conditions:

• Site-based role with frequent field inspections.
• Requires working in an industrial/construction environment with adherence to safety protocols.
• May involve extended hours and weekend work, depending on project schedules.
