Title: Electrical Technician

Reports to: Manufacturing Manager

Deepsea Technologies Inc. (DTI) based in Houston, Texas USA provides engineered products and

manufacturing services to the offshore oil & gas industry. DTI was established in 2001 and

operates under an ISO 9001 certified quality management system. DTIs sister concern, Deepsea

Technologies (India) Pvt.Ltd.(DTIPL) is in Hyderabad, India and provides engineering and support

services to DTI Houston.

DMD Description:

Deepsea Manufacturing Division (DMD) based in Telangana, Hyderabad, Jeedimetla and

established in 2009. Its provides quality subsea machined products, assembly and QC services to

the offshore oil & gas industry. DMD is certified to ISO 9001: 2015 and API Q1.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Read, understand, and interpret Electrical schematics, P&ID, sketches, and written instructions

to assemble parts or products as well as operations of equipment.

• Assemble and test subsea production control system and drilling control HPU, Subsea

Distribution Hardware & Assemblies according to company, customer and industry

specifications.

• Prepare test procedures and operations / maintenance manuals in accordance with customer

and industry standards and specifications

• Familiarity with various communication protocols Analogue /Digital.
• Operation of Electric Pumps, Direction Control Valves, Flow meters, Level Switches, Sensors.
• Perform tests using PLC based HMI.
• Troubleshoot and analyze issues identified.
• Perform various diagnostics tests such as TDR, OTDR, CR, IR, etc. on long electrical conductors

and fiber optic cables

• Perform both High Voltage and Low Voltage terminations and diagnostics.
• Install Fiber Optic Connection end terminations
• Prepare required documentation, including but not limited to daily progress reports, service

requests, test reports, failed test reports and Non-Conformance Reports.

• Identify and communicate design discrepancies.
• Identify and suggest design improvements.
• Ensure safety while operating, assembling and testing equipment.
• Participate in Deepsea Technologies Safety and Quality observation programs.
• Ensure that quality process and procedures are followed.

Education and Experience:

• Diploma or Degree in engineering

• Technical/vocational electrical training desirable

• 5+ years experience in assembling, operations and testing of HPUs for subsea production

control and drilling control applications, subsea distribution systems.

• High level of expertise in assembly and testing of Electro-Hydraulic Power and Control units,

subsea distribution equipment and drilling control systems.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to use a computer and Windows Office software

• Good communication skills

• Ability to balance customer demands against company constraints.

• Self-motivated and willing to take initiative with limited direction.

• Strong understanding of electrical operations and components

• Ability to operate forklifts and overhead cranes

Physical Demands:

• Physical requirements are those typically found in an office and manufacturing shop

environment.
