Lead Mechanical Construction

Job Summary: 

The Lead Mechanical Construction Engineer will oversee and manage all mechanical construction activities at our chemical manufacturing site. This role ensures that all mechanical systems and equipment are installed, tested, and commissioned according to project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management: Lead and coordinate mechanical construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance and support for the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems, including piping, HVAC, and process equipment.

Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of mechanical engineers, technicians, and contractors, fostering a collaborative and safety-focused work environment.

Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure all mechanical work meets industry standards and project specifications.

Safety Compliance: Ensure all construction activities comply with safety regulations and company policies, conducting regular safety audits and risk assessments.

Vendor Management: Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to procure necessary materials and services, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project requirements.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of project progress, including daily reports, inspection logs, and as-built drawings.

Problem Solving: Identify and resolve technical issues and construction challenges promptly to minimize project delays and cost overruns.

Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, engineers, and management, regularly updating project status and addressing any concerns

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 15 years of experience in mechanical construction, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the chemical manufacturing industry.

Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; relevant safety certifications (e.g., OSHA) are a plus.

Skills: Strong project management skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in construction management software.
