Manager Project & Benefit Monitoring

The Project Monitoring Officer will oversee and track the implementation of capital expenditure (Capex) projects to ensure their timely completion, adherence to budget, and alignment with corporate objectives. This role includes evaluating project performance, preparing periodic reports, identifying risks, and calculating the financial and operational benefits of Capex investments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Monitoring & Tracking

• Oversee the progress of all ongoing Capex projects across the organization.
• Develop and maintain project monitoring dashboards and tools to provide real-time updates on project timelines, budgets, and key deliverables.
• Conduct regular project reviews to ensure adherence to approved plans, budgets, and schedules.
• Coordinate with project teams, local SPOC and stakeholders to resolve delays, budget overruns, or other execution issues.
• Track and report milestone achievements and flag critical path delays.

2. Budget Oversight & Cost Control

• Monitor project expenditures to ensure compliance with the approved Capex budget.
• Identify cost variances and recommend corrective actions to control financial overruns.
• Prepare detailed variance analysis reports for senior management.

3. Performance Reporting

• Prepare comprehensive project status reports, highlighting progress, risks, and recommendations.
• Present project updates to senior management and key stakeholders.
• Ensure transparency in reporting through structured templates and standardized practices.

4. Risk Management

• Identify potential project risks (e.g., delays, budget overflows, compliance issues) and develop mitigation strategies.
• Regularly update risk registers and follow up on risk mitigation measures with project teams.

5. Benefits Calculation & Post-Implementation Review

• Evaluate the financial and operational benefits of Capex investments, including ROI, cost savings, revenue enhancement, and productivity improvements.
• Develop frameworks to calculate tangible and intangible benefits associated with projects.
• Conduct post-implementation reviews to assess project success and measure actual benefits achieved against initial projections.
