Job Title: Taxation Specialist / Tax Analyst

Location: Pune

Experience Required: 1-4 years

Qualifications:

• Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification
• Additional qualifications (if any), such as a degree in Law (LLB) or specialized tax certifications, would be advantageous but not mandatory.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Tax Compliance:
• Preparation and filing of direct and indirect tax returns (income tax, GST/VAT, etc.) for individuals, partnerships, and corporations.
• Ensure timely compliance with tax laws and regulations, including meeting statutory deadlines.
• Prepare, review, and finalize tax computations and assessments.
2. Tax Advisory:
• Provide advisory services to clients on tax planning, optimization strategies, and risk management.
• Offer insights on corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and capital gains planning from a tax perspective.
• Assist clients in evaluating the tax impact of new legislation and potential changes in tax laws.
3. Tax Audits and Assessments:
• Represent clients before tax authorities during audits and assessments.
• Manage correspondence with tax authorities regarding notices, queries, or clarifications.
• Draft replies for tax appeals, attend hearings, and liaise with legal experts when required.
4. Transfer Pricing:
• Assist with transfer pricing documentation and ensure compliance with transfer pricing regulations.
• Support in preparing Transfer Pricing reports and managing associated audits.
5. Research and Analysis:
• Keep up-to-date with changes in tax laws, regulations, and case laws relevant to the business and clients.
• Conduct thorough tax research for complex issues, new tax regulations, and international tax implications.
6. Financial Reporting:
• Ensure accurate tax accounting, including deferred tax calculations and reporting in financial statements.
• Collaborate with the finance team to provide tax-related inputs for financial closings and audits.
7. Client Interaction:
• Act as a point of contact for client tax-related queries.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure long-term engagement.
• Assist with tax due diligence for new and existing clients.
8. Team Collaboration:
• Work with internal departments, including finance, legal, and audit teams, to ensure integrated service delivery.
• Mentor and guide junior team members in tax-related matters.

• Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations (both direct and indirect taxes).
• Experience with tax software and financial reporting systems.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex tax concepts to clients and stakeholders.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and tax accounting software.

Preferred (but not required):

• Knowledge of international taxation and cross-border transactions.
• Experience in working with high-net-worth individuals or large corporations.
• Prior experience in handling litigation cases.
