US Payroll Analyst

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced US Payroll Adviser to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of US payroll regulations and be able to provide guidance on payroll processes, compliance, and troubleshooting. This role requires working closely with internal teams such as HR, Finance, and Operations to ensure that payroll runs smoothly and in full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Payroll Processing: Manage the end-to-end payroll process, including data collection, payroll calculations, and the timely submission of payroll.
  
• Compliance & Regulation: Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations. Stay current with changes in tax laws, wage rates, and other payroll-related legislation.
  
• Payroll System Maintenance: Ensure the payroll system is set up and maintained accurately, including employee records, deductions, benefits, and pay rates.
  
• Reporting & Reconciliation: Prepare and distribute payroll reports, including tax filings, wage reports, and earnings statements. Reconcile payroll discrepancies and discrepancies related to deductions or with holdings.
  
• Employee Queries: Serve as the point of contact for employee payroll-related inquiries, addressing issues such as paycheck discrepancies, tax filings, and benefit deductions.
  
• Tax Filings: Ensure timely and accurate filing of federal, state, and local tax forms (e.g., 941, 940, W-2, W-4) and payment of payroll taxes.
  
• Audit & Documentation: Assist with internal and external audits of payroll data and documentation. Maintain comprehensive records related to payroll processing and tax filings.
  
• Advisory Role: Provide expert advice on payroll policies, tax implications, and best practices for the payroll function. Support HR in matters related to employee pay and compensation strategies.
  
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the payroll function to increase efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  

Required Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in US payroll processing or related field.
  
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of US payroll laws, federal and state tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and employee benefits.
  
• Software Proficiency: Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, or similar platforms). Experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
  
• Attention to Detail: High degree of accuracy and attention to detail in handling payroll data and processing.
  
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex payroll issues to employees at all levels.
  
• Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify, investigate, and resolve payroll issues.
