Data Scientist

Job Description:
HDFC Life is seeking a talented and experienced Data Scientist to join our dynamic team. As a Data Scientist at HDFC Life, you will play a pivotal role in driving data-driven decision-making by applying advanced data science techniques, including Natural Language Processing (NLP), Computer Vision (CV), or Generative AI (GenAI). The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience working in the data science field and possess strong technical and analytical skills to implement scalable, reliable, and efficient models.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement data science models using NLP, CV, or GenAI techniques to solve complex business problems
• Work with large datasets to preprocess, clean, and extract meaningful insights that support business decisions
• Design, implement, and optimize machine learning and deep learning models, ensuring robustness and scalability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, product managers, and engineers to integrate data-driven solutions into business operations
• Maintain and enhance existing models and algorithms, ensuring that they continue to meet evolving business needs
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in Python for model development and deployment
• Utilize Git for version control and Jira for project management, ensuring smooth collaboration across teams
• Stay up-to-date with the latest research in machine learning, NLP, CV, and AI technologies, and apply them to real-world challenges

Candidate Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in data science, focusing on NLP, CV, or GenAI
• Strong proficiency in Python, with a solid understanding of libraries such as NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch
• Experience with software development practices like Git and Jira for version control and project management
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with complex data structures and algorithms
• Solid understanding of machine learning techniques and experience with model deployment
• Good communication skills to effectively convey complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
