Job Title: Logistics Operations Head
Location: Delhi, India
Position Type: Full-time
Reports To: Managing Director
Job Summary:
The Logistics Operations Head is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end logistics and supply
chain operations within the organization. This role ensures the efficient and effective
management of goods, materials, and services from suppliers to customers while optimizing
costs and resources. The Logistics Operations Head will lead a team of logistics professionals
and collaborate closely with various departments to achieve operational excellence and
customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Develop and implement logistics strategies aligned with the organization's goals and
objectives.
- Monitor and analyze logistics performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and
implement corrective actions.
2. Supply Chain Management:
- Oversee the entire supply chain process, including procurement, warehousing,
transportation, and distribution.
- Optimize inventory levels, minimizing stockouts and excess inventory while ensuring timely
delivery of goods.
3. Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing logistics team.
- Foster a collaborative and results-driven work environment, promoting continuous learning
and professional growth.
4. Vendor and Supplier Management:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and third-party logistics
providers.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to ensure cost-effective and reliable services.
5. Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reduce
costs, and increase productivity.
- Utilize technology and automation to streamline logistics operations.
6. Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including safety, environmental, and
industry-specific standards.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential disruptions in the
supply chain.
7. Financial Management:
- Prepare and manage the logistics budget, tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving
opportunities.
- Provide regular financial reports and analysis to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a
related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Proven experience in logistics and supply chain management, with a minimum of 10 years in a
leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of logistics software, ERP systems, and industry best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to analyze data, make strategic decisions, and implement effective solutions.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage
multiple tasks.
