Job Description
- Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience, especially in High Voltage DC transmission and converter stations, High Voltage AC substations and equipment with Power Electronics Controls is desirable.
- Knowledge of VSC and LCC HVDC schemes, FACTS devices and its applications for HVDC Transmission, Renewable integration (Solar and Wind), and Reactive power compensation, black start capability and grid support during disturbances.
- Perform various engineering duties requiring exercise of judgement and application of standard engineering principles and practices
- Knowledge of applicable IEC, IEEE, and relevant standards
- Provide expertise in HVDC / FACTS devices (SVC s STACOMS, ) and helps client for selection of HVDC technology.
- Provide optimum selection based on cost, efficiency, and performance of HVDC schemes requirements of clients and work towards increasing customer satisfaction.
- Conceptual and detailed drawings for HVDC station such as layouts, Single line diagrams, interconnection diagrams, material list.
- Effectively coordinate internally and externally to accomplish objectives requiring knowledge of Associated functions of HVDC systems
- Knowledge of power system studies tools like PSS/E, PSCAD, ETAP.
- Experience in High voltage AC/DC equipment sizing and specification for converter station and equipment such as reactors, capacitors, filters, switchgears, instrument transformers, surge arresters, bushings, and insulators.
- Knowledge of Power cable sizing for HV/ LV cables, laying methods, derating of cables, bonding methods, Cables and Cable transit systems.
- Detailed design for HVDC interface systems including Low, Medium and High Voltage systems which includes, Auxiliary transformers, DG sets, Batteries, UPS, Inverters.
- Review of design reports and drawings of manufacturer / OEM / Vendors.
- Conducting Load flow, short circuit, AC and DC harmonic performance and harmonic stability, Filter designs, EMF / EMI studies, Insulation coordination for AC/DC side surge arrestors, Grounding of HVDC stations
