Director - Product Engineering

Job Summary:

The Director of Product Engineering is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the strategy, execution, and delivery of the companys engineering efforts to build world-class products. This role combines technical expertise, strategic thinking, and operational leadership to ensure high-quality product development, timely delivery, and alignment with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

• Define and execute the product engineering vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with the organizations goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and operations, to ensure seamless product delivery.
• Lead initiatives for technological innovation and scalability to maintain a competitive edge.

Team Management:

• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing engineering team.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and career growth opportunities for team members.

Product Development:

• Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from concept to delivery.
• Ensure high standards of software development practices, including architecture, design, testing, and deployment.
• Drive agile methodologies to enhance productivity, adaptability, and speed to market.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

• Ensure that all products meet quality, performance, and security standards.
• Maintain compliance with relevant industry regulations and certifications.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Act as a key liaison between engineering and business units, translating business needs into technical requirements.
• Provide regular updates to leadership and stakeholders on project status, risks, and milestones.

Budgeting and Resource Management:

• Manage the engineering budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
• Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies that align with business goals.

Key Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master s or MBA preferred).
• Experience:
  • 20+ years of experience in software or product engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale, complex engineering projects and teams.
• Technical Expertise:
  • Strong background in software architecture, development, and modern technologies (e.g., cloud, AI, DevOps).
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools.
• Skills:
  • Strategic thinking with excellent problem-solving abilities.
