Lead Scala Developer

We are looking for a talented and experienced Scala developer for our Global Investment Banking Client.

Key responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, test, and deploy Scala-based applications, focusing on performance, scalability, and reliability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements, and develop solutions that meet business needs
• Involve in architectural designs and decisions, engaging with the team to create innovative solutions
• Participate in code reviews, ensure adherence to coding standards, and contribute to the improvement of the overall code quality
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, working closely with QA, DevOps, and other teams as needed
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve our systems and processes
• Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and ensure that solutions meet business needs
• Contribute to the development of technical roadmaps, architecture, and design patterns
• Participate in agile development methodologies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
• Maintain detailed documentation of application architecture , data flows development processes
• Mentoring and coaching junior members of the team
• Skills Required:
• Proven experience of taking ownership of a project, leading and delivering successfully
• Strong proficiency in Scala (3+ years)
• Solid software development experience (5+ years)
• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices
• Expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases
• Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
• Experience with Akka, Play Framework, or other Scala-based technologies
• Experience with big data technologies, such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, or Cassandra
• Knowledge of data modelling, data warehousing, and ETL processes
• Experience on developing and delivering scalable applications
• Excellent communication skills
