Console Engineer - Cisco Firepower Management (3-5 yrs)

Key Responsibilities :

FMC Configuration & Deployment : Design, configure, and build Cisco Firepower Management Consoles (FMC) from scratch for network security management.

Firewall Setup & VPN Configuration : Configure firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion prevention systems (IPS) to secure network environments.

Security Protocols : Implement security measures and policies, ensuring the proper use of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and other network security protocols.

Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution : Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Cisco Firepower solutions and network security infrastructure.

Collaboration & Reporting : Collaborate with other network and security engineers, reporting on progress, issues, and technical requirements.

Documentation : Maintain clear documentation for all configuration processes, troubleshooting steps, and firewall management activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Experience : Minimum 3+ years of experience with Cisco Firepower solutions (FMC, Firepower Threat Defense, Firepower Services).

Certifications : CCNP Security (or equivalent certification) is required.

Network Security : Strong understanding of network security fundamentals, including threat analysis, mitigation, firewall configuration, and VPN technologies.

Security Protocols : Familiarity with network security protocols like TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and general security best practices.

Troubleshooting : Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, especially related to Cisco Firepower devices and security configurations.

Communication : Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teams and clients.

Experience with Firewalls & IPS : Hands-on experience with firewall configuration, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and network security solutions.

Nice-to-Have Skills :

Experience with Other Cisco Solutions : Familiarity with other Cisco security solutions such as ASA, Firepower Threat Defense (FTD), and Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).

Automation & Scripting : Experience with automation tools or scripting for deployment and configuration management.

Cloud Security : Knowledge of integrating Cisco Firepower with cloud environments
