Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership for all API and advanced intermediates projects, aligning project goals with overall business objectives.
- Oversee the entire project portfolio, prioritizing projects, allocating resources effectively, and managing interdependencies.
- Be accountable for the entire project lifecycle, from conceptualization and feasibility studies to design, procurement, execution, commissioning, and handover.
- Demonstrate deep technical expertise in API and advanced intermediates manufacturing processes, including fermentation, continuous manufacturing, automation, solvent recoveries, and ETP systems.
- Manage project budgets, cash flow, and financial performance, ensuring cost optimization and efficient resource allocation.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing project team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans to address potential challenges.
- Ensure strict adherence to all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements (MIDC/GIDC/PESO).
- Drive continuous improvement in project management methodologies, processes, and tools.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 15+ years of progressive experience in project management, with a significant focus on large-scale projects (Rs 100 Crore+) in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry.
- Demonstrated experience leading greenfield and brownfield projects is essential.
- Education: A post-graduate degree in management or a related field is preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Deep understanding of API and advanced intermediates manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies (PMP, PRINCE2) and tools.
- Strong knowledge of SAP and inventory control systems.
- Familiarity with relevant safety and environmental regulations (MIDC/GIDC/PESO).
Leadership Skills:
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to build and motivate high-performing teams.
- Strong strategic thinking and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Experience with specific project management software (MS Project, Primavera P6).
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
