Role Overview:
The General Manager - Projects will be responsible for leading and managing the Projects Department to ensure the successful and timely delivery of multiple flooring and rigid pavement projects across India. This is a senior leadership role that demands strong technical knowledge, project management expertise, and the ability to manage large teams, client relationships, and project finances effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the entire project lifecycle - from planning to execution and closure.
- Collaborate with internal departments, including Design, Sales, and Procurement, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies.
- Ensure timely delivery of projects while maintaining quality standards and controlling costs.
- Lead and manage a team of Project Managers, Engineers, and Site Supervisors, ensuring effective deployment of manpower and machinery.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, addressing concerns and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and profitability.
- Oversee vendor management - including selection, negotiation, and performance evaluation.
- Conduct regular site visits for inspections, reviews, and client meetings.
- Monitor and ensure timely billing, invoicing, and payment collection from clients.
- Ensure all contracts are closed properly with necessary documentation and approvals.
- Regularly review and ensure the team meets its monthly billing and project delivery targets.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: Bachelor's or master's degree
Experience:
- Minimum 15-18 years of hands-on experience in site construction, project planning, labor management, and client coordination.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale projects as a Project In-Charge.
- Experience in industrial flooring, rigid pavements, or infrastructure projects will be a significant advantage.
- Strong leadership capabilities, with the ability to lead large teams and coordinate across departments.
- Willingness to travel extensively to project sites across India.
