Software Test Engineer - Regression/Functional Testing (3-13 yrs)

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Manual Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and executing test cases to ensure the quality and functionality of software applications. You will work closely with developers, project managers, and other stakeholders to identify issues and improve overall product performance.

Key Responsibilities :

- Analyze user requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to develop test cases and test scripts.

- Execute functional, regression, integration, and system testing.

- Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking tools.

- Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth product releases.

- Prepare test reports and documentation to summarize test activities and results.

- Validate fixes and ensure no new issues are introduced into the system.

- Designing, modifying, developing, writing and implementing software programming applications for target system using agile methods.

- Acquiring client requirements resolving workflow problems through automation optimization.

- Utilizing automated testing tools to perform the testing and maintenance.

- Provide automated testing coverage for assigned projects

- Create bug reports in the bug tracking system and ensure the fixed bugs verification

- Actively participate in daily project team meetings and brainstorming activities related to the project issues

- Collaborate with the product team

- Provide recommendations to the project leads to improve test automation and/or QA-related procedures, systems and tools

- Effectively collaborate on cross-functional and globally located teams including other testers, developers and business partners

- Monitor automation processes and contribute to manual testing on demand

- Prepare result reports, and defect status reports and document all bug issues

- Stay abreast of technology trends and industry best practices in testing

- Present manual and automation test-based ideas to the team for review/approval

- Active contribution to improving the overall testability of the product and improving release quality

- Ensure a fully functional product is delivered keeping in mind time and quality

- Take ownership of deliverables which go beyond the technical depth of expertise

Skills and Qualifications

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

- Proven experience as a Manual Tester or Quality Assurance (QA) tester.

- Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).

- Proficiency in bug tracking tools like JIRA, Bugzilla, or equivalent.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

- Basic understanding of databases and querying using SQL.

- Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with API testing or mobile application testing.

- Familiarity with test management tools like TestRail, Zephyr, or similar.

- Knowledge of automation tools is a plus (e.g., Selenium, Postman).
